hundred days – day 49

Posted in comics, hundred days, news, sketchbook by Tom on January 18th, 2010

Listening to a lot of Silver Mt. Zion this evening.

I started drawing this page and looked up at my desk to see a pot of unused blue ink staring back at me. So I grabbed a brush and a worn out dip pen and decided to try it out. The results aren’t great – I’ve not used an actual brush in years (preferring to use increasingly expensive and hard to find brush pens) and it shows. But it was nice to have a bit of a play considering this pledge was about doing exactly that.

It works a lot better on the page than it does on screen. Promise.

:) I did a mental gasp when I read those first two word bubbles. That is my absolute favorite SMZ song. And I think the imperfections in the blue ink add to the entry. Good stuff, man.
