]]> By: Morgan Lloyd Sr. http://ventedspleen.com/blog/2009/07/10/printing-your-small-press-comic/comment-page-1/#comment-13188 Morgan Lloyd Sr. Wed, 24 Feb 2010 22:28:21 +0000 http://ventedspleen.com/blog/?p=212#comment-13188 Dear Sir or Madam I was a small press comicbook publisher in the mid 80's .I had a comic called 'The Hedonist" that got very good reviews from the magazines of that time period called 'Small Press Comic explosion by Tim Corrigan [the big mag of the group] as well as Comicbook Newsletter by John norris,Comictalk by Kevin Collier,Future Fanzine' by Richard Corrigan and Small Press Comics by Robert Tomlinson This happened in the years 1986 to 89 when Tim got in a spat with one of the other reviewers and it all seemed to come to an end.But while it lasted 100's maybe 1,000's of small press comics were reviewed in these zines.I got sick and fell out of the scene til 2 yrs ago.Glad to see it's still going.I have 5 mags going now.3 are mired in the cannabis controversy going on here in California.The other 2 are for friends in trouble. I hope i helped you with that part of history of the small press comic history. If you have any questions or would like to see some of this old work just let me know.I got bags full of the stuff. Mostly not very good sadly. I do remember a guy who did a cartoon called "Stickman'" going to a legit publishing company. I believe his name was Matt something. And I much prefer doing that than dealing with my surly local printers. You have to be tough and lay the law down with some printing companies.
